Senior Housing Scheme
This housing scheme for residents of the Third Age aims to tackle typical challenges related to post-retirement life. Apartments with communal arts/crafts space and gardens, work hard to overcome social isolation.
1 At the Mackintosh Community Centre in the district of Roath in Cardiff, a small craft market takes place every Saturday. Amongst the stalls are jewellery makers, artists, pottery painters, wood carvers, knitters and cross-stitchers. The majority of them do this crafting at home, in isolation, with insufficient space, storage and natural light. A two minute walk away from the market, this housing development proposes a new home for the crafting community, and a place to come together with a shared love for creating.
